NOAA’s National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center Annual Severe Weather Report Summary reported 5,432 hail events in 2025 compared to 5,373 in 2024. Texas and Kansas had the largest number of hail events according to NOAA in 2025.
According to a March 2023 analysis by State Farm, the company paid out over $3.5 billion in hail claims in 2022, an increase of more than $1 billion from 2021 due to increased hail claims and inflation. State Farm’s top states for hail claims were Minnesota, Texas, Arkansas, Illinois and Nebraska.
